Solon Stars "Shake it" at the Shaker Shark Invitational Meet

The STARS had another great meet this past weekend at the Shaker Shark Invitational.  31 Stars swimmers recorded personal best times and 10 Stars swimmers competed in finals on Saturday night.

Congratulations to Alex Olexa (50 back), Grant Pinchot (200 fly), and Charlie Stewart-Bates (200 IM, 500 free, 200 free, 100 free, 50 free, 100 fly, 50 fly, 100 back)  for taking first place finishes in individual events. Finishing first in relay events was the boy’s 11-12 400 free relay team of Alex Olexa, Andrew Badertscher, Elijah Spiro, and Grant Pinchot. Taking multiple first place finishes in the 10 & under boys relays where: 400 free relay team of Jason Ong, Anthony Telerico, Philip Bradshaw, and Charlie Stewart-Bates.  Zach Lesko joined Telerico, Bradshaw and Stewart-Bates to win the 200 medley and free relays.

Special congratulations to Alex Olexa who achieved his first Zone cut in the 50 Back with a time of 28.83 (AAAA time!).  Additionally, the Stars records books took a big hit as 4 relays and several individual event records were broken!  Relay records that were broken include the boys 10 & under 400 free relay (Jason Ong, Anthony Telerico, Philip Bradshaw, Charlie Stewart-Bates); the boys 11-12 medley relay (Alex Olexa, Elijah Spiro, Grant Pinchot, and Andrew Badertscher); the boys 10 & under 200 medley relay (Zach Lesko, Anthony Telerico, Charlie Stewart-Bates, and Philip Bradshaw); and the boys 10 & under free relay (Zach Lesko, Philip Bradshaw, Anthony Telerico, and Charlie Stewart-Bates).  Stars individual records that were broken include the 11-12 boys 50 back (Alex Olexa); 11-12 boys 100 breast (Alex Olexa); 11-12 boys 50 breast (Elijah Spiro); and the 10 & under boys 200 free (Charlie Stewart-Bates).     

Overall, there where 55 “A" or better time standards achieved.  Stars individual and relay results can be viewed HERE.
