Our Greatest summer yet!

CONGRATULATIONS on a GREAT summer!  I can speak for the whole STARS
Coaching staff in saying this summer was a BLAST!  I want to give you a
quick overview of the season:  2008 USA Open Water 5k Nationals in Ft.
Meyers Florida we had first time competitors Lauren Matevish (6th place)
and Melissa Besman (18th) they did a great job!  We move on to the USA
Sectionals in Bloomington Indiana we took 13 girls and 13 boys for 26
swimmers are largest group ever, we saw numerous TEAM records broke as well
as the girls team placing 24th and the boys team placing 12th out of a
total of 53 teams.  Our STARS swimmers then competed in The Lake Erie
Championships at CSU were we placed 2nd as a Team overall, we also had one
swimmers Morgan Cohara set 3 meet records in the 50 free, 100 & 200

Gallagher, Terrence Wong, Emma Stewart-Bates, Kristen Stempak, Dana
Lautenschleger, Anna Wong, Elijah Spiro, and Charlie Stewart-Bates.  The
team did very well placing 9th out of 15 teams and we saw Ben Stewart-Bates
become the 2008 15-18 Mega Zone Champion in the 400 free Awesome! Finally
we finish our GREAT summer with our oldies but goodies the Masters
swimmers, they are competing at the USA Masters Nationals in Mt. Hood
Oregon the swimmers are Jack Groselle, Todd Stultz, and Laura Kessler we
wish them all the Best!

We should all be proud of our team and all of the swimmers that train every
day in hopes of improving just 100th of a second.  It is a large sacrifice
but the result is huge no matter what the improvement is.  Remember that
"SUCCESS" only comes before "WORK" in the dictionary, so keep working hard
and stay focused on the little things! Go STARS!
