USA Swimming hosted its Annual Diversity Select Camp in Colorado Springs, CO at the Olympic Training Center. Every year USA Swimming invites athletes from underrepresented populations to participate in a three-day camp program which includes pool training, motivational and education sessions and team-building activities.
Thirty-five athletes, ages 13 to 18 were selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants. These athletes had a wide range of background, a high level of diversity was apparent in the individual’s:
-        Gender
-        Ethnicity
-        Geographic Location
-        Skill Level
The athletes and their hometown coaches experienced demanding workouts, guest speakers and seminars that will help to grow them individually. For a brief video on some of the highlights at this year’s Diversity Select Camp click here. You can also find a recap on the camp attached to this email.
